Your limits. Zero tokens. Live in the menu bar.

Session, week and Fable next to your clock, plus an optional pace and daily budget. ClaudioStat asks Claude Code directly, so a refresh costs zero tokens and never touches your login.

Version 0.4.6 · macOS 15 or later · Apple silicon or Intel · 2.9 MB

Try the menu bar

Sample numbers. Click the status item and try the menu. P and B start off, as in the app: turn them on under Data. The icon pulses while Claude Code is thinking, and the warnings show when usage is too fast: try the switches. The app speaks the same twelve languages. It starts in your Mac’s, and Language in its menu switches it.

S
Session
Your current 5-hour window.
W
Week
All models, this week.
F
Fable
Fable only, this week.
P
Pace
How fast W rose over the last hour, per day or per hour. Experimental.
B
Budget
What's left of the week, per day (or per working hour) until the reset.

In the menu bar, S and W turn orange when you are using them faster than they last until the reset, and red when you are well past that. A warning triangle takes the icon's place when Claude flags a limit.

B is your budget per day.

Off by default: turn it on under Data, per day or per hour. Drag the sliders to see how it is worked out; this is the same formula the app uses. Stay under B each day and the week lasts until the reset.

82% left over 7 days (the partial day counts in full) = 11.7% a day, rounded down to 11%.

Small on purpose.

  • Your limits at a glance

Session, week and Fable next to your clock. Turn on pace (P), budget (B) and the time to each reset under Data, or show just the icon or just the numbers under Display.

  • Every reset, counted down

Open the menu to see when each limit resets and how much of the week is left per day.

  • Warns you in time

S and W turn orange, then red, when you are using them faster than they last until the reset, and the menu says why. A warning triangle takes the icon's place when Claude flags a limit. Notifications tell you when a limit is reached, when it resets, and when the week passes 80% and 90%.

  • Zero tokens

ClaudioStat sends Claude Code a get_usage control request and nothing else, so a refresh costs nothing from your limits.

  • Never sees your login

Claude Code keeps its own login, and signing in runs its own claude auth login in your browser. ClaudioStat never sees or stores a credential, and it runs Claude Code with hooks, plugins and MCP servers off. To pulse the icon while Claude Code is replying, it reads the end of the session file that changed in ~/.claude/projects, and saves and sends nothing.

  • Sleeps when Claude does

While neither the Claude app nor Claude Code in a terminal is running, ClaudioStat stops asking Claude Code, and the last numbers dim so you can tell they are old.

  • Native and tiny

A small Swift app, a 2.9 MB download, with no Dock icon unless you turn on Keep in Dock. It refreshes every 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes, can launch at login, and installs updates in one click: a window shows the progress, then Reopen starts the new version.

  • Every account in one bar

Using more than one Claude account? Add profile… signs in to another one in your browser, and each becomes a profile named by its email. Pick Multiple users under Data to see them all side by side, with Profile name on to tell them apart. Single user shows just the checked one. With more than one shown, Show data below offers Show profile per block, Show profile per submenu or Off.

How it gets the numbers

Claude Code already knows your limits. ClaudioStat just asks it, the same way each time.

  1. Runs your installed claude once, headless, with hooks, plugins and MCP servers off and no session saved.

  2. Sends one get_usage control request. No prompt goes with it, so it costs zero tokens.

  3. Reads five_hour, seven_day and the Fable window, works out P and B and updates the bar.

Install

  1. Open the DMG and drag ClaudioStat to Applications.

  2. Allow it once. ClaudioStat is signed by its developer and notarized by Apple, so macOS only asks you to confirm the first time you open it.

  3. Sign in once. A setup window finds Claude Code and, if needed, signs you in through your browser. Then the numbers appear in the menu bar.
